An interesting geometry

You can look at this video from NASA: planet Venus transiting space between Earth and the Sun. It makes one wonder, "What exactly is the geometry of this system, Earth, Venus and Sun?"

I.e., from what you see here, could you make a series of sketches or diagrams that show the system in three spatial dimensions?
